Steps to prevent dental cavities
1. Floss the teeth you want keep.


2. Brush your teeth twice a day for 2 minutes, preferably with an electric toothbrush.


3. Avoid sugary beverages


4. Drink plenty of water.  Water is a great way to help clean the food particles that may stick to teeth after a meal. The less time those food particles linger, the less time cavity producing bacteria can reproduce and cause cavities. Water is also one of the very few beverages that doesn’t lead to cavities.


What does a cavity look like?
When decay gets through the enamel of your tooth, a cavity can form. Once a cavity forms, it can continue to spread deeper and deeper into the layers of your tooth.
It’s important to catch and treat a cavity as early as possible to avoid serious problems, like an abscess or an infection.
