Wisdom teeth
Not all wisdom teeth need to be removed. Healthy 3rd molars have the following qualities:
- Grown in completely (fully erupted)
- Positioned correctly and biting properly with their opposing teeth
- Are not infected
- Can be cleaned easily so as to prevent cavities
- Pain free
- Do not have the potential to crowd teeth/have enough space to grow in
Impacted 3rd molars have the potential to cause tumors and cysts.
Talk to your dentist about the position and health of your wisdom teeth and together you can determine a solution that’s best for you.
